Archive of returns (2021)
“Our predecessors are the path to our own past. The way they are is given by where they come from. The way they are influences the way we are, among other things. Archive of returns is a project by which the author analyses her family story. A metaphorical narration brings an insight into the life of departed ones whose departure means beginning anew in a new place – in Slovakia. What is the role of photography in their relationships? How can identity be created simultaneously in two places and none at the same time? How and why do we build an archive?”
